Here is what I want to do for a couple of days--maybe a week or two depending on how it works. Inspired by DeVany and others about keeping your body guessing!

Have a pair of dice and roll:

First time: roll one die and divide by two: how many meals I have that day. From a snack (1/2) to 3 meals! Some days fast, some days feast.

Second time sprint: roll two dice: greater than 6, do no sprints; less than 6, do the number of sprints on the dice. All out!

Third time weight training: roll two dice: the number that comes up is number of reps of a circuit of pull-ups, push-ups, deadlifts, and squats.

Living randomly...

Ha! I'll be very interested in how your experiment goes.

Me, I'm working on listening to my body -- particularly when it demands rest despite my mind's insistence upon WORK! Feel like sprinting? Great, let's go! Need a break? Ok, walking is good today. Furious or restless or exhilarated? Let's lift heavy!

Methinks rolling the dice would be the antithesis of listening to my body...and yet, both seem quite primal. Interesting, indeed.

I think this sounds great. And I also think it sounds very primal. Think about it - cave people woke up everyday and rolled the dice! Some days they would have an abundance of food, and eat 3 meals, other days they'd only be able to pick at the scraps from the day before (even if they were starving!)... Some days they'd have to sprint like mad men, and at other times, not at all.

The dice experiment is right up my ally. Chadwick - when do you want to start!? I'll join you. Lets do it, and document the heck outta it!

Alright, I could not find dice, haha! But I tried to live randomly as I could by just doing whatever came to mind first. Ate one meal--dinner. Did 5 reps of my circuit, and did Tabata sprints around a 1 mile oval. Felt great! But I need to find the dice.
