Per Barbeygirl's suggestion HERE (http://theprimaltribe.com/showthread.php/68-Primal-Cold-Remedies?p=447#post447), I set out to create the perfect cold remedy - Primal Chicken Soup.

I took the ginger, lime, and cayenne pepper that Barbey recommended, and instead of making a drink out of them, I made a meal out of them. I made a primal chicken soup with the following ingredients (I rarely include measurements in my recipes, sorry I go by feel baby!):

One whole organic chicken
Fresh ginger root
Fresh lime juice
Cayenne pepper
Minced fresh garlic
Sliced white onion
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Celery
Chicken stock
Touch of sea salt
Cilantro

I put them all in a big pot, and cooked til the chicken was done. Here are some pics of the result, I feel better already:

Thanks for the inspiration Barbey!

That sounds AWESOME, pk!

I roasted a turkey yesterday and kept the carcass and drippings for a rich stock...think I'll whip up a turkey version of this soup tonight. YUM!
