View Full Version : An unintelligible grunt, apparently some form of salutation

But it's a friendly grunt, of course.

I'm just not sure if the Primal Me is Neanderthal (and therefore incapable of speech) or fully developed into Cro-Magnon. (Obviously the Modern Me is fully steeped in the tradition of language and quite a whiz at the keyboard.)

Anyhoo...My name is Marc and I live in the San Diego area. I've been quasi-Paleo from a diet perspective for a few months now, hesitant to give up dairy altogether, but having great results without all the weighing and measuring of the Zone (and other diets). My exercise rituals are also primally inspired: I do lots of CrossFit as well other fun stuff like swinging clubbells and maces, doing heavy rope work, sprinting, yoga, bodyweight exercises galore, and other things I'm forgetting at the moment.

In case you're interested, my username "tribecalledfit" is a reference to my blog which you can view by clicking anywhere on this post.

I'm so glad I found this community. I look forward to checking it out in more depth and following along as it evolves.

Thanks for having it, and thanks for sharing with me. I will try to give back what I can.

Cheers!

Wow! You do a lot!! A few months ago, when I still had a signshop, I traded some signs for 2 months of Super Slow training. Never felt better, but can't afford personal training now.
Have to learn to do it myself. I think with this forum, I'll have just the inspiration I need.

tribecalledfit,

Welcome! Not only do you seem knowledgeable (checked out your blog), but it also seems like you have a good sense of humor, and nice personality - exactly what this community values!

I saw on your blog that you have some Gym Jones material... Have you been there?! I love the concept of the place, and want to make it there some day.

Tell us a bit more about your blog, is it just you, or a few writers? You call it a community.

I am also doing crossfit-esque stuff at the moment. In fact, one of our fittest members - Get Primal - and I are doing some great ones. Check THIS THREAD (http://theprimaltribe.com/showthread.php/33-Workout-Challenge?p=482#post482).

pkafka,

Thanks for the kind words! It's always nice to feel welcome in a new place...

As for your questions, no I've never been to the actual gym behind Gym Jones. But I'm like you and would love to get a chance to check it out sometime.

My blog is, well, mine. But it's a community blog in the sense that I have some close friends here in North County San Diego who are like-minded and are supportive. We plan on doing some group training sessions, lectures, workouts, etc., as it evolves -- so stay tuned -- but for now it's just a blog and a dream :)

The workout thread between you & Get Primal looks like great stuff. I will build one of those into my plans next week and let you know how it goes!

Hey, Marc,

You gave me quite an assignment in my intro thread. I've turned it in, so head over and pick your reading material!

I'm glad we have you and other physically fit folks on the forum. Between y'all and the coach in the classroom next to me (I teach upper elem science), I can't help but get my rear in gear.
