Do any of you have a problem with fluoride? I have been reading that in high levels (which are present in toothpaste and, at times, tap water) can over time, be pretty toxic.

Do any of you live in accordance with this rule?

Sorry I've been gone for a while. Just got back in the states. Ready to start fleshing out some new primal problems I've been thinking about!

How was everyone been?

best,

-pk

I'm fortunate that my house is on a well. I use conventional toothpaste, but take care to rinse well to minimize swallowing. In short, I'm not paranoid about flouride, but I'm not oblivious to it, either, and I take some precautions.

Welcome home, pk!

No idea if you need to worry about it or not. There's a lot of support for either side. I drink tap water, but if I had the choice I would probably not have added fluoride.

This may or may not help:

I use Tom’s of Maine toothpaste and do just fine but if I try some of the more popular brands I start feeling weak within about four days…don’t know if it’s from the fluoride or something else in them. I’m guessing it’s from another ingredient but who knows and I don‘t swallow the stuff so whatever it is, it‘s nasty for me!
I’m on a well now, but where I lived before there was so much chlorine in the water that just watering the lawn smelled like you were at a public pool. No idea if there was fluoride in it also but I bought drinking water to avoid the chlorine for sure.

I do not use fluoride toothpaste. I don't ever have cavities.
I do drink tap water that has a little in it (I don't think my filter cleans it out), but it is my understanding that most bottles water has fluoride in it too.

I don't know if fluoride is a huge concern or not either... but I think oral health is more connected to diet then what you brush your teeth with. Therefore I use Jason toothpaste to bee on the safe side.

I use Toms of Main toothpaste, have tried to avoid fluoride as it isnt neccessary in my life, and like mercury, I dont think it has any business in the human body, along with a lot of stuff, but I only have so much control over the damage..... We have a full house water filter now, so no chlorine or heavy metals in our home water supply, its great.
